About Bethany Reid Locklear

• As the mother of a child with multiple medical conditions, I am endeavoring to use my passion for image-driven language to write stories about the lives of medically complex children. I hope that my stories and illustrations will, in some small way, help bring about awareness and understanding for an often under-represented group of people.

  I have my B.A. in Sociology from the University of Southern California, as well as my M.A.T. in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina.

• My illustrative style involves digital composites of photographs and hand-painted watercolors.
